Dun-An- Ri, College Plans ;plans

The Design and Plans  of the new  Dun -An – Ri, College will be in on display at this year’s

Christmas  Craft and  Trade  Fair, which will be held on 29 th & 30 th. November in Kingscourt Community Centre.

Marriage ;

Congratulations to  Ms. Aideen  Murphy  & Mr.  Joseph  Hennelly  on their recent  marriage.  Couples intending marriage in the Diocese of Meath must complete an ACCORD pre marriage workshop.

Baptisms ;

The  Parish community welcomes  Padraig James McHugh, Grainne Teasie Mary  Geary,  Anna O’Driscoll,  Cillian  Gunn Yorke and Shona Cora Finglas on their recent baptisms.   All baptisms take place on the 2 nd & 4 th. Saturday of each month at 4.00.pm in the Church of the Immaculate  Conception, Kingscourt.

Pioneers ;

The Pioneer  Association is promoting  the short term pledge  for November in honour of the Holy Souls. By long standing custom, many people choose to  abstain  from alcohol for the month of November  for the souls in Purgatory.

Candlelight  Mass ;

On Saturday 8 th. November the Annual Candlelight Mass of  Remembrance  will be held at 6.00.pm in the Church of the Immaculate  Conception , Kingscourt, for all those who have died in the parish in the past year, family members and friends are very welcome.

Restoration   Work ;

During the past week restoration work has started on the  town’s  famous”  Gartlan’s  Thatched Pub”, closed for the past few years , it had fallen into disrepair.  The new owners Padraig and Sheila Smith  have screened off the building,  and erected scaffolding  for the work to be safely undertaken.

Christmas Lights ;IMG_5024

Following a meeting held last week of  traders and a further meeting being held this week, it is likely that the town’s Christmas lights will be switched on at the end of November, coinciding, with this year’s Christmas  Craft and Trade Fair,  a number of fundraising methods are being investigated to   assist with the expense of this year’s  festive lights.

Cancer Fund, Charity  Shop;

Kingscourt  Cancer Fund, Charity shop , which is located in Church Street, are holding a “Half Price”, weekend sale, on this Thursday, Friday & Saturday (6th, 7th, & 8 th of November) Lots of Ladies, Gents, Kids, quality clothes, shoes & toys .
