Pub Quiz, Continues;
Kingscourt Cancer fundraising, “Pub Quiz” continues with Malone’s Vs Credit Union and Handball/Racquetball Vs M&F’s. The cancer fund provides “Free Taxi” services to any Hospital for treatment, for further information contact any committee member.
Dog Litter ;
Whilst taking the dog for a walk is to be commended, there are many areas in the town which have been soiled with dog litter which can be harmful, especially to children ,it is also an offence with the owner being liable to a fine of € 150. The owner is responsible for cleaning up after their dog, and suitable plastic bags are available at a reasonable price.
Council Meeting ;
A meeting of Kingscourt Community Development was held on Wednesday of last week, with further information on the organising of this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which is being held on Monday 17 th. March at 1.00.pm
Like last year the parade will be streamed live tall over the world by WebCam, on themarketsquare.ie . The theme for the best dressed window competition will be; “The Roaring Ninety’s”. All businesses and residents are encouraged to display a flag on the day as this year’s parade is being covered by RTE TV.

The Parish Community welcomes recently baptised, Muirin Elizabeth Owens and Lala Malone Healy. All baptisms take place on the 2 nd. & 4 th. Saturday’s of each month at 4.00.pm in the Church of the Immaculate Conception , Kingscourt.

Congratulations to Ms. Kelly McCullagh and Mr. Aaron Fleming on their recent marriage. All couples planning to marry in the Diocese of Meath must complete an ACCORD pre marriage workshop, www.accord.ie
Regretted Death ;
There was genuine regret in the area at the death death of Anna Watters, ( nee McEnroe ) Shinan Shercock and formerly of Mt. St. Joseph, Kingscourt, which occurred on Tuesday 25 th. February , peacefully at her residence. Reposing at her residence, Requiem funeral mass on Thursday 27 th. February in St. Patrick’s Church, Shercock, with burial in Kingscourt cemetery. The deceased had been unwell for some time and was the last of her family. She is survived by her loving husband Seamus, nieces, nephews relatives and friends to whom sympathy is extended .
Regretted Death ;
The death occurred peacefully at Cavan General hospital of Teresa (Teasie) Connolly , (nee Byrne) St. Mary’s Road, Kingscourt, on Friday 28 th. February. The deceased who was in her 85 th. year had been unwell for some time. A quiet and unassuming person who had a great love for her family , Requiem funeral Mass on Sunday 2 nd. March in the Church of the Immaculate Conception with burial in the adjoining cemetery, She is survived by her Son, Michael daughter; Sarah, son-in-law Keith, daughter -in-law Cora , grandchildren ; Darren and Michael, brother; Vincie Byrne relatives and friends to whom sympathy is extended.
