Regretted  Death ;

The death occurred  of  Eileen McManus (nee Hand), late of ( Corrygarry Kingscourt)  peacefully  at Castleross Nursing Home, Carrickmacross and formerly of Stranatona, Magheracloone.  Predeceased by her husband Peter, they lived for a time in Corduffkelly, Carrickmacross, in the early sixties they built a house on Corrygarry, Kingscourt. She was an enthusiastic cyclist and loved the great outdoors, for the past few years she was a resident in Castleross Nursing Home, Carrickmacross. She is survived by her sisters; May Sheridan , Kingscourt and Rose Breen, Carrickmacross, brother ; Jim Hand, Auckland, New Zealand, nieces, nephews relatives and friends to whom sympathy is extended. Requiem funeral Mass on  Tuesday 28 th. January, in the Church of the Immaculate Conception with  Cremation  afterwards in Glasnevin  Crematorium

Bereaved ;

Sympathy  is extended to Rev. Fr. Gerry McCormack, P.P. Kingscourt on the death of his mother , Mai McCormack (nee Harte) Durhamstown, Bohermeen, Navan, peacefully at her home with her family, on Monday 27 th. January.  Deeply regretted by her daughter, Margaret,  sons, Fr. Gerry and Peadar, son-in-law Pat, and grandchildren, Ross, Cormac, Katie- Mai and Emily.    Requiem funeral Mass on Thursday of last week   in St. Ultan’s Church, Bohermeen , with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Scrap & Clothes  Collection ;

St. Joseph’s N.S.  Kingscourt are having a “Scrap & Clothes Collection “, at the Enterprise Centre off the Kells Road, beside the Fire Station, on Saturday 15 th. February and Saturday 1 st. March, from 11.00.am  to 1.pm, Please contact the school at 042 9667528, if you want scrap collected.   The school is  raising money for roof repairs in the old school.

Grandparents Day;

On Thursday of last week, over 200 school children  and grandparents, attended a special Mass in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, which was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Joe White, for grandparents .  Grandparents also attended a prayer service in St. Joseph’s N/S  school, the pupils made buns and cake which they gave to the grandparents along with a cup of tea and coffee.

New Presbyterian Minister;

A new Presbyterian minister has been appointed to Ervey Presbyterian Church, he is the Rev Damien Boyle, he will also be conducting services in a number of other churches, in the region,

First Confessions :

On   Tuesday 11 th. February First Confessions will be held in   Corlea and Muff, on  Wednesday 12 th. February  First Confessions will be held in Kingscourt. On Thursday 13 th. February First Confessions will be held in Carrickleck.

Table Quiz ;

Corlea  Table Quiz will be held in Murtagh’s on Friday 7 th. at 9pm, all support welcome.

Carrickmacross  Lace, Classes;

Carrickmacross Lace Classes for beginners/ mixedability will recommence on Wednesday 12 th. February 7.30.pm to 9.30.pm in Carrickasedge Social Centre all welcome, for further information contact Kathleen on  087 6276447
