Kingscourt Social Services, recently held 1 day Tour with Memory Tours, visited Kilbeggan Distillery & The Derryglad Folk Museum. A most enjoyable day was had by the 40 folk on the bus.

Regretted Death;
The death occurred on Friday 28 th. August of Mary Rooney (nee Clarke) peacefully in Kilmainhamwood Nursing Home. Predeceased by her husband Brendan, sadly missed by her sons ; Martin and Michael, daughter in law, Carmel, grandchildren, sisters, nieces ,nephews ,relatives and friends, to whom sympathy is extended .Reposing at her son Michael residence, Kilmainhamwood, with removal on Sunday evening to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Kilmainhamwood. Requiem funeral Mass on Monday 31st August with burial in the adjoining cemetery.
The Late Pat Callaghan ;
There was genuine regret in the area at the death (suddenly )of Pat Callaghan, Rocks Road, Kingscourt, on Saturday 29 th August, formerly of Meath Hill. The deceased who was in his 74 th year, was a quiet and unassuming person. He was employed for many years in Shekletons , Mackins and in Frazers, hardware shops. Coming from the Meath Hill—Barley Hill areas he was also into picking from family orchards, apples, plums and damsels for use in the local areas.
Deeply regretted by his loving wife, Betty, sons, Hugh, Joseph ,Ciaran, daughter ,Lesley, sisters , Margaret and Nancy ,brothers ,Paul, Brendan and Gerry, son in law, John, daughters in law, Karen , Olivia ,Joan, grandchildren , Lauren , Darragh , Aoibhin , Gearoid ,Cormac , Liam and Donnacha, nieces, nephews relatives and many friends, to whom sympathy is extended.
Reposing at his daughters home, Shamrock Drive, Kingscourt, with removal on Tuesday 1 st September to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Kingscourt Requiem funeral Mass at 12 Noon with burial in the adjoining cemetery.
