Green Flag Award Ceremony for St. Joseph’s N.S. Kingscourt;

The Green School award ceremony took place on Wednesday 20 th. May in the Helix in Dublin City University. There were 52 schools from around  Leinster  present to receive their flags. St. Joseph’s National School , Kingscourt received their 4 th. flag for green transport. This project involved the pupils walking to school every Wednesday . The class with the most pupils walking to and from school received the “Golden Boot” . The school also began  a “Drop and Go” system every day where parents allowed children to walk into school unaccompanied  at the entrance to St. Joseph’s school. The new system has reduced the traffic jams in the morning and has made the set down  area  so much safer. Mr.  Conor Craven from Cavan County Council extended his congratulations to all the pupils ,teachers and parents who helped over the last two years with the green transport project.

Marriage ;

Congratulations to Mr. Joe Tinnelly and Ms. Helen O’Grady on their recent  marriage.

Baptisms ;

The parish community welcomes recently baptised ; Zack Michael Rogers,  Noah James Gorman , Noah James Farren and  Grace Elizabeth Hickey . All baptisms are held on the 2 nd & 4 th. Saturday of each month at 4.pm in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Kingscourt.

Fun Run, on 1 st. June at 11.00am;

Gypsum Industries are organising  a Fun Run on the 1 st. June at  11.00.am starting from the Market Square ( €10 per Adult and €20 per family . All proceeds to the Irish Cancer Society

Meeting ;

Cavan County Council  in association with Kingscourt Tidy Towns Committee, welcome everyone to a meeting in the Parish Centre on   this Wednesday 27 th. May at 7.00.pm, on Introduction  to Composting.

Blood Donor Clinic Thanks :

The Irish Blood Transfusion Service, would like to thank all 129 Donors who attended the recently held clinic in Kingscourt Community Centre. It is essential that we maintain and increase the level of support on our next visit to Kingscourt ( which will be on Monday  31 st. August) A breakdown of the total figures shows that 3 first time donors and 14 former donors attended the clinic.
