Successful  Christmas Party;

On Sunday 12 th. January , a most enjoyable Christmas Party , organised by Kingscourt Social Services , was held in Cabra Castle Hotel, with over 130 people attending, they were treated to a sumptuous  meal, which was served up by a very courteous  Cabra Hotel staff. With lots of spot Prizes , distributed  to the large attendance present after which they all  got involved in the dancing with music provided by the  Owens family.

Golf Society  AGM;

Dun-An-Ri, Golf Society are holding their  AGM on this Friday 24 th. January in Clarkes Bar, at 9.00.pm, everyone welcome.

Another Good Win for  Cavan ;

On Sunday last the Cavan seniors had another good win against their near-neighbours  Monaghan, with a score of Cavan 16 points to Monaghan’s  1 goal  and 9 points.  They are now into the final of the Dr. McKenna cup against their old rivals Tyrone .

Bereaved ;

Sympathy is extended to  Angela Malone, Annette Yorke and Dympna Yorke on the death of their brother John Hubble Liss, Oldcastle, Co. Meath , formerly of Wilkinstown,, Navan , who died in Cavan General Hospital, on Sunday 12 th. January. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Kathleen ,sons; Dermot and Declan, daughter, Sinead, daughter-in-law Margaret, brothers ; George, Fran , Brendan ,Martin and Eamonn, sisters Angela, Annette and Dympna, nieces, nephews, brothers -in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives and friends. Funeral on Wednesday  15 th. Jan. following removal to  St. Brigid’s  Church, Oldcastle for requiem Mass, with burial afterwards in the local cemetery.

Baptism;

The Parish community welcomes recently baptised Konrad Piotr Stepien. All  Baptisms take place on the 2 nd.& 4 th. Saturdays of each month in Kingscourt Church at 4.00.pm.

Christian Unity Service;

The annual service of Prayer for Christian Unity  will be held in the Church of the Immaculate Conception on this Wednesday 22 nd. of January  at  7.30.pm. The Preacher will be Rev. Alistair Graham, Rector of  Mullingar  parish. The retiring collection will be for St. Vincent de Paul Kingscourt Conference.

Winter Olympics, Rep. from Kingscourt;

Congratulations and every good luck to Danielle  O’Brien  daughter of Mary Fitzsimons  from Muff, now resident  with her family in Australia, who will represent  Australia in the Winter Olympics  being held in Succhi, Russia .

All  Star Award, Gaelic Games ;

Congratulations to Holly Lynch  from Muff who received her PPS Ulster All Star Award in Gaelic Games
