Regretted Death ;

The death occurred   of Patrick  O’Connor, Ballynaclose, Kilmainhamwood (suddenly )at Our Lady’s Hospital  Navan  on Saturday 9 th. November. The deceased who was in his 33 rd. year had been a lorry driver, he is survived by his devastated and heartbroken  parents Gerry and Helena , sister, Judith and family members. Funeral on   Wednesday of last week following requiem Mass in the Church of the Immaculate Conception with burial in the adjoining cemetery, The  very large attendance  present was testament  of the sympathy of the wider community  to the bereaved, he was predeceased by his brother , Gavin.

Regretted Death ;

The death  occurred on  Sunday 10 th. Nov. in  Castleross  Nursing Home, Carrickmacross of Frances Byrne (nee Clarke)  Barleyhill   Kingscourt  . For many years  she had been a regular  Bingo player in the locality.   Requiem funeral Mass on   Tuesday of last week in the Church of St. Patrick and St. Bridget’s, Meath Hill with burial in Kingscourt cemetery.

Pantomime;

Photo of  Kingscourt Pantomime society in the early 1950’s, which was taken in St. Mary’s Hall, the pantomime was  “Babes in the Woods” the producer and musical director was the late Rev. Fr. Foley.

 

Christmas  Craft & Trade Fair ;

This years  Christmas Craft and Trade Fair will be held on  Saturday and Sunday  23 rd/ 24 th. November in Kingscourt Community Centre, organised each year by Kingscourt Community Development Association, with free admission it will be open from 11.00am to 6.00.pm each day, the younger generation will be delighted to learn  that  Santa Claus will attend in his special grotto and will be delighted to meet them, with presents for all .  The  Craft and Trade Fair iss a shop window of the many products available and produced in the community and surrounding region and well worth a visit. There will be  the usual raffle  for a very large hamper with lots of prizes , well worth a visit..

Sponsored Dog  Walk ;

The annual  sponsored dog walk in aid of Cavan SPCA and Irish Guide Dogs will be held on Saturday 30 th. November at 2.00.pm. It is being hosted by Bailieborough Vetenary   Clinic, sponsorship cards are available from their reception, there will be a raffle  and refreshments available afterwards.

Stars  AGM ;

The AGM of Kingscourt Stars  GFC will be held on Sunday 1 st. December  at 3.00.pm in the clubs pavilion, new members welcome .

Marriages ;

Congratulations to Mr. David  Kieran & Ms. Sorcha  Cleary,  Ms. Kirsten  Callaghan &  Mr. Patrick Dolan on their recent   marriages.

Baptisms ;

The Parish community welcomes newly baptised, Niall Patrick O’Reilly and Shauna Christine Bird.  All baptisms take place on the 2 nd & 4 th. Saturdays of each month  at 4.00.pm in the Church of the Immaculate  Conception.

Philippines Collection ;

On Sunday next l  Mass collection  is for the support of the displaced people of the Philippines following the recent tycoon- funds will be  channelled through the Columban  Missionaries, Dalgan Park, Navan, who are working on the ground, also for the refugees in war torn Syria.

Gala Concert ;

On this Wednesday 20 th. Nov.   a  Gala Concert will be held in Cabra Castle Hotel, starting at 8.00.pm in aid of Kingscourt  St. Vincent de Paul Society, featuring the Farney Singers and local artists , all support welcome.

Bereaved ;

Sympathy is extended to Mrs. Margaret McGovern Mt.  St. Joseph on the death of her mother, Mrs. Peggie  Tierney, Ardagh, Meath Hill.  Funeral on Wednesday last following requiem Mass in the church of St. Patrick & St. Bridgid, Meath Hill with burial in Drumconrath cemetery.
